Sunset on the Scioto
One of my favorite places to go running is along the east side of the Scioto River. Mapquest calls it “Griggs Reservoir Park”…GoogleMaps calls it
“James J. Thomas Park”. There is an entrance off of Riverside Drive (Route 33) between Fishinger Road and Hayden Run Road.
This picture was taken in the spring of 2009. After running in the park earlier that day, I decided to go back in the evening for a casual stroll.
I had my little point-n-shoot digital camera with me and just started taking pics, this one turned out to be my favorite.
I encourage anyone looking for something to do outdoors to check out the park. South of Fishinger Road, the park offers shelters, picnic tables,
a public restroom, and a play area for children. There is a COTA stop with vehicle parking specifically for commuters. North of Fishinger Road,
there are more shelters and picnic tables and lots of grassy area for pets. There are also plenty of spots to fish.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
