Romantic Places in Columbus, Ohio
Candlelit Valentine Concert – “Love Songs Through the Decades”
In a hall bathed with the glow from dozens of candles, I’ll strum my guitar, play the piano, and sing all kinds of love songs. Songs about the joy and ecstasy of love. And songs about the pain and heartache of love.
Most of the songs will be familiar tunes, songs made famous by a wide variety of folks like John Denver, the Everly Brothers, Bette Midler, Bob Dylan, Roberta Flack, Dan Fogelberg, Simon and Garfunkel, Sam Cooke, and the Beatles.
Beautiful flute music, played by Ann Fisher, and haunting violin music, played by Rebecca Stansbury, will add to the romantic atmosphere on many of the songs.
We’ll also have some fun with trivia questions about famous and infamous couples and about love songs themselves.
Plus, we’ll serve up some refreshments, wise sayings about love, and a couple of fun surprises. You could even win a door prize!
We’re asking for $10 per-person donations at the door for a great cause: this May’s annual Central Ohio Folk Music Festival. It’s a project of the non-profit Columbus Folk Music Society.
