As a service to our communities I’m adding Columbus Ohio Non Profit Organizations. There’s nothing better than people helping people and it’s important for all of us to be aware of these places.

Future of America Program

My first featured page is for the Future of America Program, YMCA. This group helps 7th and 8th graders throughout Central Ohio. It helps our kids… and it gets my vote!

SouthSide Health Ambassador – Children’s Hunger Alliance

Children’s Hunger Alliance with the generous support of the Columbus Medical Foundation, has implemented a new program to bring health awareness, education and food and fitness resources to residents to the South Side of Columbus (zip codes – 43206 and 43207). In order to improve health outcomes, Children’s Hunger Alliance has recruited and trained four residents of the South Side to be Health Ambassadors for the South Side. The health Ambassadors are available to present to a variety of community, school and faith-based groups and to attend special events such as health fairs.We have been trained in Obesity, Cancer, Diabetes, Hypertension, Cardiovascular disease. The Gift of Adoption

We believe a child without a family is one of life’s great tragedies because a child without a permanent home suffers. Orphanages and foster homes do not offer permanent solutions for the millions of children who need a family. All children deserve the dignity and love that comes from being a part of a family. Gift of Adoption is committed to creating those families. Gift of Adoption is a national charitable organization that inspires adoption by providing grants to qualified parents – giving children who need families a permanent home and a chance to thrive. Through Gift of Adoption, donors can give to adoption like they give to other causes. Even if they can’t open their homes, they can open their hearts and transform the life of a child.
What We Offer:
We put adoption in reach – inspiring good families to embrace children in need by providing the last funds necessary to complete the adoption. We provide a way for supporters to help these children even if they are not able to personally open their homes to help these children. We have a tried and tested program for ensuring that donations are used to fund successful adoptions by qualified parents who need some financial help in completing the process.
Volunteer Recruitment:
GOA recruits volunteers primarily online though websites such as volunteermatch.com and we also recruit via word of mouth of our employees, Board members, and friends of GOA. Please feel free to check out the GOA website at: www.giftofadoption.org

St Jude

The St Jude Children Research Hospital, located at 1335 Dublin Road, #100B, Columbus, Ohio, is of course one of the organizations that are doing so much for children and their families. If you can, donate to this extremely worthy cause. We never know when we may be in a position of needing this type of help.

The Buckeye Ranch Square One Foster Care

Each year, the Ranch’s foster care staff assists over 400 youth and their families helping them find stability and permanency. Children from infancy to 18 years of age, in need of temporary homes, are placed with trained and licensed families and are provided a safe environment. Their developmental, medical and behavioral health needs are addressed. Staff and foster families work with the child’s primary family whenever possible to facilitate reunification. Additionally, this program assists with adoptions for youth where reunification is not possible. Foster care services are provided from our Columbus, Newark, Cincinnati and Dayton offices.
