Gifts of the Craftsmen

The museum’s annual holiday sale will feature unique gifts handcrafted by over 90 artists from across the state. Holiday shoppers will find beautiful jewelry, functional pottery, wooden serving bowls and utensils, knit scarves and hats, leather accessories, handmade ornaments and greeting cards.
17th Annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony

Join us Friday, November 20, for our 17th Annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony. Help us celebrate the simple and unexpected joys of Christmas with entertainment that will involve, engage and surprise. Watch children’s eyes sparkle as Santa arrives, along with a special guest, to illuminate Easton’s 50-ft Christmas tree and a breathtaking display of lights! Cap the evening’s festivities with a visit to Easton Station for photos with Santa, along with extra surprises along the way. It’s the perfect way to celebrate the season, and it’s only at Easton!
After the Lights Come On…
Many retailers and restaurants will keep the festivities going after the lighting ceremony. Stay tuned for a list of activities to experience the evening of November 20!
North District – Horse-drawn carriage rides will again be offered during the holiday season at Easton Town Center in the North District. Rides begin November 20 after the Lighting Ceremony and run through December 23: Cost is $10 per person. Children under 15 ride free with paying adult.

The excitement begins at 3 pm, with family-friendly events that include a live reindeer petting zoo, horse-drawn carriage rides, crafts, games and activities for all ages, holiday carolers and more! As the sun goes down, Gahanna’s Creekside District becomes illuminated with thousands of tiny lights, exhibits, activities, food, vendors and smiling faces and a host of dazzling surprises. The appearance of Santa signals countdown to the lighting of Gahanna’s community tree.
Ohio Statehouse Holiday Festival and Tree Lighting

The holiday season opens in Ohio with the annual holiday Statehouse event. Attend the Statehouse Holiday Festival and Tree Lighting to kick off the 2015 holiday season. Holiday activities include: carolers, refreshments, model trains, community mascots and much more. Historical characters and modern dignitaries will be on hand to greet guests, including Santa himself. Free and open to the public.
Grand Illumination Ceremony With Mayor Coleman
Join Mayor Michael B. Coleman and the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department to celebrate the holiday season with the Grand Illumination of the Scioto Mile.
Nothing captures the spirit of the season more than the sound of singing children. Traditional carols performed by the Columbus Children’s Choir will fill the air as you stroll through the park and take part in a variety of holiday activities. Look for juggling elves, barnyard friends, and Clara with her Nutcracker Prince from BalletMet’s annual holiday production. Stop by the North Pole Tinkershop to create holiday crafts with Columbus Children’s Theatre, Franklin Park Conservatory & Botanical Gardens, Girl Scout Cadette Troop 2150, McKnight Outdoor Education Center, OSU Urban Arts Space, POINT, and the Recreation & Parks Arts Committee.
In the spirit of giving, attendees can support the Empty Bowls project by purchasing a piece of handcrafted pottery and receiving a bowl of hearty chicken and dumpling soup compliments of Milestone 229. Cookies, compliments of Cheryl’s, and hot chocolate will also be available. All proceeds benefit the Mid-Ohio Foodbank.
Join Mayor Coleman, City Council President / Mayor-elect Andrew Ginther, Recreation and Parks Director Tony Collins, and ABC 6 / Fox 28 as they flip the switch and illuminate the Scioto Mile. Following the lighting ceremony, children are invited to visit with Santa and enjoy live holiday music from the SupaFun Band– a group of merry, musical elves that is sure to delight audiences of all ages.
In keeping with the city’s green initiatives, all seasonal decorations feature energy efficient LED lighting, including more than 250,000 LED lights on 150 trees. The Scioto Mile Fountain presented by the American Electric Power Foundation will come alive for the holiday season with festive video projections and illuminated spheres suspended from each of the five fountain halos. The lights will twinkle in Bicentennial Park and along the Scioto Mile until January 10, 2016.
The event is free to the public.

SegAway Tours of Columbus will once again be offering unique gliding tours during the upcoming holiday season. The 1.5 hour tour will cruise along the Scioto Mile, over the new Rich Street & Main Street bridges, through Columbus Commons and visit State Auto’s historic Christmas display. Riders will listen to festive holiday music through their helmets while they enjoy the decorations that illuminate our capital city.
